I have the honour to acknowledge the

receipt of your Code telegram of the 8th. instant informing me that you are advised that Mr. Churchill has a chance of in- -provement and that he will be re-examined in 5 months as to his fitness for further service.

In the meantime I do not propose to take any stops for filling the temporary vacmey caused by his absence.

I think it would be well to remind the Medical Officer who re-examines kr. Churchill that the latter's duties involve not only office work in reading and writing reports and scrutinising plans but also outdoor inspection of works, including buildings, in process of construction. For many months before he left the Colony Mr. Churchill was unfortunately unable to assist in such

inspections.

I have the honour to be,

Sir,

Your most obedient,

humble servant,

Anna.
